Overall, I'd like to say that there were only a few accounts that had to be taken out to the wood shed.We've run an exhaustive scan of the server logs and deleted votes that came from the same IP within the same 24 hour period
We discovered that there were more than one hole in our cookie based system (mostly from various mobile operating systems) so we've added more code to the server side to check for duplicate votes from the same IP address within a 24 hour period (aka unwashed mongrel hoards).
Since this was the first round of offences we've decided to be diplomatic about things and not ban accounts that had suspect behaviour, however, we're also not going to spend a lot of time arguing about it.
If your rankings were adjusted one way or the other, it doesn't mean that you were necessarily doing anything wrong (hey ... it could have been your grandmother and you didn't know ... we get it) but it does mean that there was some duplicate voting going on and our new code has adjusted your down or up accordingly (mostly down, with some people coming up as a result of others dropping).
Before you get ramped up about this, let me just say: We won't be hearing your complaints on this matter.
We are going to play benevolent dictator on this one and just say ... that's the way it is.

if u wanted to do thing this way it should have been told at the begining. And not lonly that but i have seen other accounts not go down many votes and there are a few i know for a fact have multiple accounts for cause i have seen it. and they have not gone down many either. this isn't fair.. Maybe next time if you guys wanted to pick and choose who wins yourself maybe make it so that we enter are pictures and judges pic the winner,.
